VFT Engineering Surveyors is proud to play a pivotal role in the transformative $187.2 million Newell Highway upgrade, known as the Parkes Bypass. The Parkes Bypass project is set to revolutionise connectivity, enhance road transport efficiency, and significantly elevate safety for local and interstate motorists.

Under the visionary leadership of Transport for NSW, the project aims to construct a cutting-edge 10.5-kilometre bypass on the western periphery of Parkes. This strategic endeavor is designed to achieve several crucial objectives, including the reduction of travel time, improvement of freight productivity and efficiency, enhancing pedestrian accessibility through Parkes, and optimising traffic flow.

This endeavor forms a vital component of the larger $520 million Newell Highway upgrade program, which is dedicated to supporting the interstate freight industry, stimulating economic growth, and bolstering accessibility and safety along a pivotal transport corridor in New South Wales.

The scope of the Parkes Bypass project encompasses the relocation of the highway approximately two kilometers to the west, spanning from Maguire Road in the north to Barkers Road in the south, covering a total length of 10.5 kilometers. By doing so, the bypass will alleviate the burden of up to 1200 trucks per day from local streets, simultaneously enhancing safety for all motorists traversing this important route.
